Wednesday May 23rd
Well, I have been here a week now - in some ways the time has gone very fast and in other ways slow. I am slowly adjusting to the extreme weather here - it has become quite humid thus making it feel hotter. Yesterday we had rain for a while and that broke the humbidity somewhat so now it feels cooler.
I have gone to check out prices on furnishing for my place several times and finally yesterday got some of the major appliances. I am planning on going to Pune Thursday vai taxi together with a couple of friends to get many of the smaller things like dishes, bedding etc. It will be good to see Pune again.
I am hoping to be able to move into my place next week - and am really praying that the rains hold off till I have moved in - once it starts to rain it will be very difficult to move.
We have many power cuts every day here so am getting an inverter (basically batteries) so that I can manage during these cuts - this allows me to use lights and fans.
I went to church on Sunday and met some very nice people - nationals - the church was held in a small school - pretty primitive but adequate.
Once I am settled I will start working - I am looking forward to that.

Hi there Dora in India -
Time sure flies by - can't believe you've been gone over a week already! You didn't miss much on the May long weekend - weatherwise, it wasn't the best, which was ok - since Michael & I worked most of it. Our weather is finally picking up now, though - looks like sun ahead. I sure hope your rain holds off until you get settled - you'll feel so much better when you get into your own place. Have fun in Pune - sounds like you really miss it. All the best with getting settled.
Love Linda
PS - You should see money back on your credit card for the car insurance cancellation, but it was about the same amount as 1 yr. storage insurance.
Hi Dora,
we are pretty happy to hear from you :) After "arriving safely" and your first week you seemed to be quiet bussy... Without you and Carolyn is our Base really "EMPTY" now!!! But that´s the way it is: When people aren´t there anymore, there is a gap... :(
Two days ago we ate sausages and bread - together with Dana -. That reminded us about the wonderful evenings in your apartment. You helped us so much, to enjoy Christmas abroad ...
O.k. we are eagerly reading your Blog and hope, that you will get ready with all your stuff in these days.
Be blessed
Your German friends
Oliver & Nina
